There have been so many people who have supported me, and so many unforgettable and life changing moments. Here is a short overview of some of those important moments:
The Austrian organist and church musician Johannes Zeinler won both, the first prize at the international organ competition at St. Albans in 2015 as well as the Grand Prix de Chartres in 2018. One of the most successful organists of his generation, he is the first Austrian who has ever won these prizes.
He has studied organ with Pier Damiano Peretti and Klaus Kuchling, piano with Christiane Karajev, and church music at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. While continuing his studies in Toulouse for one year he received important insight into the French repertoire. He worked with Michel Bouvard and Jan Willem Jansen as well as with the harpsichordist Yasuko Bouvard. Johannes finished his master’s degree in early keyboard music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg in cooperation with the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. Studying with his teachers Wolfgang Zerer and Theo Jellema in organ as well as Menno van Delft and Johan Hofmann in harpsichord, clavichord and basso continuo, helped him to refine his skills.
Early successes at international competitions like Wiesbaden 2012, Kitzbühel 2012 and Liechtenstein 2013 helped Johannes to launch an international career as a recitalist. He has performed all over Europe as well as overseas at major venues like the King’s College Cambridge, the Bavokerk Haarlem, the Hauptkirche St. Jakobi and St. Michaelis Hamburg, the basilica St-Sernin in Toulouse, the cathedral in Poitiers, the church Ste-Croix in Bordeaux, the cathedral Notre Dame de Paris, the Wiener Stephansdom, the Mariinsky theatre in St. Petersburg and the famous Wiener Musikverein. Over the years he has become a welcome guest at major music festivals like the Carinthischer Sommer, the GoArt Göteborg, the CIOC Montréal and the Jeunesse Wien, which also included broadcasted productions.
In addition to his career as a performer Johannes holds a teaching position at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. As a church musician Johannes works at the Stift Klosterneuburg where he is organist at the renowed historical organ by Johan Freundt (1642).
